The latest news from around Dubai on the live projects for Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG). Q2’s construction update comprises information from ICD Brookfield Place, The Dubai Mall Zabeel Expansion, and BLVD Crescent.
The project core has topped out, and with just a few remaining elements of steel to be installed over the coming weeks, the steel structure will also reach the same stage in due course. The final steel component will be installed as part of a presentation ceremony to commemorate this important milestone. Over the course of the next three months the cladding on the main structure is also due to reach completion and ‘crown off’ the building, with the majority of the glazed wrapping complete. Meanwhile, primary steel for the double height north podium, which is scheduled to be home to a number of exclusive restaurants, bars and retail outlets, is also closing in on completion.
ICD Brookfield Place is designed by Foster + Partners, with Multiplex and South Korea’s Ssangyong Engineering and Construction responsible for building the development. BSBG is the Lead Consultant, Executive Architect, Executive Interior Designer and is providing Construction Supervision on the pioneering DIFC skyscraper.
The building design pays special attention to incorporating numerous sustainability features, targeting a LEED Gold rating upon delivery, and the establishment of a new standard in commercial office space in Dubai, offering more than one million square foot of leasable space in the most exclusive business district in the UAE.
Going on from the last visit in the first quarter of this year, the interiors of the project are now complete with a number of tenants beginning their own private fit outs. Landscaping work continues at street level, while for BSBG, the final stage of authority approvals are coming to a close.
The industrial-style interiors feature innovative use of typography and signage, as well as unique cantilever ceiling features and lighting. The concrete effect flooring and the use of steel grates and grid elements in key areas such as elevator and escalator points reinforces the modern and almost mechanical aesthetic, which represents a huge departure from the adjacent mall styling.
Once the final stages are complete, which means finalising retail unit and food court fit outs, landscaping and the last components of the link bridge, the much-anticipated expansion will finally be open to the public. Stay tuned to our social media for more news on the prospective, approaching opening date…
BLVD Crescent is now complete, and the development is a hive of activity as residents begin to move in and real estate agents show clients the few remaining apartments, which overlook the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountains to one side, with views of Zaha Hadid’s The Opus and Business Bay to the other.
The landscaping, complete with shaded yoga area and kids’ pool, and the two lobby areas are exquisitely finished, and BLVD Crescent boasts all the quality materials and feature elements one would expect from an Emaar residence. From the Art Deco branding to the lobby decor, and finishing with the top floor penthouse suites, BLVD Crescent is the epitome of Downtown Dubai living – sophisticated, refined and chic.
