BSBG’s design for Banyan Tree Residences – Hillside Dubai was awarded as the Best Architecture Multiple Residence in Dubai at the International Property Awards on Thursday. The design has now been nominated for the regional Arabia awards, having received 5-star recognition during a gala dinner held at the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah.
During the daytime presentations, Managing Partner Alistair McMillan was accompanied by Director Scott Orwin as they collected two awards for Residential High-Rise Architecture for Dubai, and Architecture Multiple Residence for Dubai. They were joined by Valeria Sevilla, Development Manager for Sweid & Sweid, who picked up their award for Residential High-Rise Development for Dubai, as the project developer. For the evening gala dinner event, BSBG senior management figures were in attendance as BSBG won the Best Architecture Multiple Residence for Dubai category; an award that now sees Banyan Tree Residence – Hillside Dubai nominated as the representative of Dubai in the regional awards. Andrew Bereza, Scott Orwin, Nick Turbott, Greg White, Demetri Tourtouras and Armin Buchbinder joined four of the team from Sweid & Sweid for the evening’s festivities, and they were delighted when BSBG was announced as the winner of the prestigious Architecture Multiple Residence award.Partner Andrew Bereza told us what the award means for the group, as the work within the BSBG design teams, led by Armin Buchbinder, continues to receive great recognition for its sophistication, inventiveness and functionality. “We’ve seen our reputation for design over the course of the last two or three years really escalate internationally,” Andrew told us. “Most people have historically recognised BSBG as being highly skilled at delivering world class projects as an Executive Architect or Lead Consultant. Sometimes, when an architect is revered as one of the best in delivery, it can be hard to comprehend that they’re capable of designing to that level too. But our design work is at an extremely high level, and we’ve seen recognition of this fact increase among developers. To now win an International Property Award for the second year in a row on one of our design projects (BSBG won an award for its design of The Edge in 2017) is a confirmation of our capabilities in design.”
BSBG has designed projects for a number of the top developers in Dubai, including Emaar with BLVD Crescent, wasl with Emirates Golf Club; Al Futtaim with Festival Plaza; MAF with Aloft City Centre Deira, and many more. But for Andrew, the faith shown by Sweid & Sweid in engaging BSBG to design and oversee the delivery of two of its key projects, The Edge and Banyan Tree Residences, is something that means a great deal to the group. “We do pride ourselves on our long term relationships with our clients. With Sweid & Sweid, our two projects have been fantastically received and have both been recognised with awards for their design excellence, so I’d like first to congratulate the developer on their award-winning buildings, and I’d also like to thank them for their valued and long term partnership as we look to the future…”
