“I believe 2025 will bring a lot more personalisation to our internal spaces,” Hadeel says. “We’ve moved away from more sterile, all-white interiors, as timeless and pure as they may be, and more towards spaces that feel alive and personal.”
Interior Designers are now looking to add features and pieces that reflect individual tastes, incorporating the history of the location, personality, and stories, with the aim of making homes and spaces more engaging and completely unique.
“For my second choice, I think we’ll be looking at more eco-friendly design within the interior design team, with a huge focus on sustainable finishes, materials, and solutions like recycled glass, metals, reclaimed wood, and energy-efficient lighting systems,” Hadeel explains. “Natural fabrics like cotton, wool, and linen will take centre stage for us when it comes to upholstery and drapery as part of the same eco-design trend.”
Eco-design reflects the growing awareness of climate change and the need for sustainable living. Consumers and businesses are now more conscious of their choices, and prioritise longevity, health, and a reduced carbon footprint. Eco-design is not only environmentally friendly; it can be harnessed in such a way that it also creates spaces which feel meaningful, restorative, and connected to the natural world.
“With Pantone’s colour of the year being Mocha Mousse, we’ll start seeing greys and whites disappear from modern interiors, while richer tones will make an entrance,” Hadeel says. “Chocolate browns, terracotta, and other warm hues will make more appearances. Neutral palettes will generally decline as the need for more vibrant visuals is on the rise. We’ll start seeing more patterns, textures and eclectic scenes as we go deeper into 2025.
“This touches on the personalisation point made earlier; everyone is expecting less of the “cookie-cutter” approach. As well as through colour, personalisation will also be achieved through acquiring vintage items and styles in certain concepts – particularly from the 70s and 80s. While it might not be right for all spaces, we can definitely expect to see hints of it, and this is something we’re embracing in the studio.”
“We’re focused on adaptable and multifunctional spaces with integrated technology, says Hadeel. “This is achieved through the use of, for example, innovative furniture design and versatile, compact items that can allow spaces to transform and cater to certain groups - such as individuals with hybrid or remote jobs.
“This has been gaining popularity since 2020, and will start evolving from being about transforming people’s homes to transforming their workspaces as well, and using spaces as efficiently as possible.”
“"In all of our interior design projects now, we push for the integration of smart lighting and voice-activated controls in living spaces to make them intuitive and up to date with today’s technological advancements," Hadeel says.
“Technology plays such a central role in everything we do now, in every walk of life, that it makes sense to utilise the advancements we’re seeing to make life at home more automated. Part of our responsibility as interior designers is to almost simplify the way people live in their homes if you think about the attention to detail we put in to the end-user journey around each of the spaces we create, and so it only makes sense that we would put the same level of attention into providing smart technology solutions to further aid people’s comfort.”
