Working through coronavirus

In these unprecedented times, Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) is adopting a measured and rational approach to the current global pandemic. The health and wellbeing of our staff across the world is our primary concern, and we are taking all the necessary precautions across each of our global offices to ensure that hygiene and health within our project teams takes precedence.

We are carefully monitoring the latest government and health agency advice relating to each of our global destinations, and we have contingency plans already in operation that will ensure uninterrupted continuation of service for our clients, whether from the office or remotely.

Digitally connected

BSBG has developed a reputation as one of the industry leaders in digital integration. A core aspect of our international success has been our connectivity - our ability to work and conduct design workshops remotely, collaboratively and virtually between offices. This is something that already happens on a daily basis, with BSBG project teams and managers based permanently on site for live projects, collaborating with office-based staff to oversee coordination and delivery. We are fully prepared and equipped for a seamless transition to remote working, and to continue providing full, multi-disciplinary services and solutions for our clients on projects across the world.

By utilising software and applications such as BIM 360, Microsoft Teams, Slack, BIM Link, and so on, with a purely cloud-based digital infrastructure, and with the use of the latest tools and hardware, all BSBG projects remain secure and will stay on track. Work will continue across studio teams, with the utilisation of unified platforms for real-time sharing, and video conferencing for project teams that are unable to be in the same physical space. On many of our successfully delivered projects our international teams have shared knowledge, information, and models digitally with colleagues in other time zones, whether it be through BIM software or on remote servers. These new models of work we have adopted over the last decade mean we are expertly positioned to maintain productivity and output throughout this period.

There does remain great uncertainty about the future surrounding coronavirus, and the impact it is currently having. Our objectives as a business are to provide support to our staff and colleagues through this adversity, to contribute to keeping the world moving forwards during this challenging time, and to remaining a positive force in ensuring that our clients, partners and studios come out of this current situation in as strong a position as possible.
