A design narrative focusing on the natural flow and connectivity of spaces

JA Lake View Hotel symbolises instinctive design that complements the remarkably serene and beautiful setting enveloping the complex. The 5-star hotel overlooks Jebel Ali Golf Course with the Arabian Sea as the backdrop, and the external areas of the hotel frontage are formulated to seamlessly integrate with the natural elements that rest just beyond the perimeter. This methodology is applied in all feature areas of the hotel, from the atrium space, to each of the F&B components. Continuity, flow and coalescence, from architecture to interior design, and from the building itself to its natural surroundings.

The hotel is comprised of 348 guestrooms and suites, a vast atrium space, three swimming pools, an all-day dining restaurant with private dining rooms, a gastro lounge with crafted outdoor spaces, an Indian restaurant and a rooftop bar. The hotel building is oriented to provide guests with a spectacular view of the Dubai sunset from the rooftop.

Seamless integration with nature

Upon arrival at the drop-off point, guests are immediately exposed to a view directly through the full height atrium lobby space towards the golf course, and the Arabian Gulf beyond it. The immediacy of this interaction, this opportunity for escapism and an overt connection with nature creates a unique, unforgettable introductory experience for the end-user. The full-height atrium is the focal point of the 5-star development, where natural light, vertical and horizontal methodology are exploited to promote with subtlety the concept to the end user - a relaxing, flowing environment providing a connection with nature; a luxurious retreat and a peaceful, welcoming sanctuary. A large Mashrabiya-styled ceiling rests behind an expressed structural frame above the atrium space, creating provocative shadowed patterns as the sunlight breaks through.

Multidisciplinary delivery

From the rooftop bar to the gastro lounge, all areas of the hotel are designed from the same perspective; an exploration of the continuity that can be accomplished between architecture and interior design, the connection between indoors and outdoors, and the relationship between nature and the built form.

BSBG developed the concept from an existing vision document provided by the client; performing multi-disciplinary services on the project, comprising architectural and interior design, lead consultancy, structural engineering, contract administration and construction supervision.
