Reflecting on the past 12 months, Managing Partner Alistair McMillan commented: “2025 has been a year of exceptional momentum for the Group. We’ve continued to expand our team across all disciplines, driven by the increasing demand for our integrated, multidisciplinary expertise. This growth speaks of the trust our clients place in us, particularly relating to the quality and consistency of our work, as well as the collaborative culture we have built. As we look ahead to 2026, we do so from a position of real strength - made possible by the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our people across every BSBG office and every active site.”
In this blog, we look back at the defining moments of 2025.
2025 got off to a fantastic start as it was announced in February that the +studio design of UH by Ellington won the Best International Architecture award in the Multiple Residence category at the International Property Awards.
Michael Lewis, Group Design Director, said: “We’re really pleased to have picked up this international award for UH by Ellington. It’s the first project we designed for the client, and the fact it has been so well received is a source of immense pride for the entire +studio team. It’s a key legacy project for the studio and a great example of the depth of our design work.”
UH by Ellington is a dual tower high-rise community development featuring 754 units comprised of elegant studios, and a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. BSBG is the Lead Consultant, Concept Design Architect, Executive Architect, Structural Engineer, and is providing Construction Supervision.
In March, BSBG revealed details of the +studio-designed Ellington Cove, a residential community located on Dubai Islands. BSBG is the Concept Architect, Executive Architect, Lead Consultant, Structural Engineer and Interior Designer on the project, and is also providing Construction Supervision.
Designed with the aspiration of redefining coastal living, Ellington Cove features 962 residential units, with a selection of one, two, three, and four-bedroom apartments, as well as amenities including a private beach, a beach club, a yacht club, multiple swimming pools, a restaurant/café, a state-of-the-art fitness and yoga studio, and landscaped gardens.
BSBG announced its involvement in the design and delivery of Nawayef Park Views in April. This is a residential scheme located on Hudayriyat Island by Abu Dhabi-based developer, Modon. The low-rise project features a selection of one to four-bedroom apartments, as well as a medical clinic, leisure and retail options. BSBG is the Concept Architect, Executive Architect, Lead Consultant, Interior Designer and Structural Engineer on the project.
Michael Lewis, Group Design Director, explained more about the design and the role BSBG design hub, +studio, played in developing the residential project standards for the client: “Aesthetically, the project fuses traditional Mediterranean sensibilities with a refined, contemporary design language both internally and externally. We explored multiple iterations to arrive at the final solution, which involved close collaboration with the client. The staggered, framed and beautifully detailed frontages, combined with a crafted public realm, celebrated drop-off points and stunning vistas across the Arabian Gulf are standout features within the project. It’s a great example of the added value that we bring to our clients, understanding how to extract the maximum amount of value from a plot. It’s part of the foundation for why clients come to us - the ability to deliver coordinated architecture and design certainty at an early stage.”
In June, BSBG unveiled its design for Eltiera Heights, a refined new residential tower and community development by Ellington Properties, located in the heart of Jumeirah Islands. BSBG is the Concept Architect, Executive Architect, Lead Consultant, Structural Engineer, and Interior Designer on the project.
The project represents a new elevation in lifestyle and architectural expression for the Jumeirah Islands community - a neighbourhood renowned for its lush landscapes, tranquil waters, and carefully curated residential clusters. Rising from this serene setting, the development introduces a distinctive architectural identity, marked by fluid lines, natural integration, and a quiet sophistication that reflects its surroundings.
A month later BSBG picked up two Arabian Property Awards for the +studio design of DMCC’s Uptown Phase 2 (Office Architecture), and Ellington Cove (Architecture Multiple Residences).
Uptown Phase 2 is comprised of two mid-rise commercial towers of 23 and 17 storeys, providing approximately 70,000 m2 of Grade A commercial office space, as well as 8,000 m2 of F&B and retail. The project represents a key component of DMCC’s Uptown district, and is designed to interact with the wider masterplan.
Ellington Cove features 962 residential units, with a selection of one, two, three, and four-bedroom apartments, as well as amenities including a private beach, a beach club, a yacht club, multiple swimming pools, a restaurant/café, a state-of-the-art fitness and yoga studio, and landscaped gardens.
The project is designed as a serene and sophisticated residential scheme focused on beachfront living for families, with high-end material selection and finishings, in one of the most exciting and dynamic new locations in the UAE.
BSBG Senior Management conducted a site visit at One Clapham in London during August to inspect construction progress on the project. Managing Partner, Alistair McMillan, and Senior Partner, Andrew Bereza were provided with an in-depth tour and update on the project’s progress by Jack Walker, Architectural Technologist.
