BSBG +studio-designed Uptown Phase 2 receives Best Office Architecture accolade

DMCC Uptown Phase 2, designed by Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) design hub, +studio, has been awarded with the Five-Star Award for Best Office Architecture in Dubai at the Arabian Property Awards 2025.

The project will now compete in the regional awards, where it will be judged against other winners from across the MENA region.

BSBG is the Lead Consultant, Concept Design and Executive Architect, Interior Designer and Structural Engineer on the project, and is also providing Construction Supervision.

Commenting on the award, Group Design Director Michael Lewis said: “It’s a fantastic accomplishment for the teams from BSBG and DMCC to receive this accolade. The project is highly complex, particularly in terms of the integration with the Uptown masterplan, but it’s been a rewarding process, and one we’ve really embraced within the studio. We’re incredibly proud of the final outcome.”

Uptown Phase 2 is comprised of two mid-rise commercial towers of 23 and 17 storeys, providing approximately 70,000 m2 of Grade A commercial office space, as well as 8,000 m2 of F&B and retail. The project represents a key component of DMCC’s Uptown district, and is designed to interact with the wider masterplan.

The towers open out to an activated central plaza, which will become the focal point of the district. The plaza will host a dynamic and diverse offering of activities from immersive art installations to music, film and fashion performances.

The process of design involved analysing the masterplan beyond the plot boundary to understand a methodology that could extract the most value for the client. The wider context of Uptown as a destination was considered in detail, with every design decision effectively referenced against the masterplan.

The International Property Awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry. Winners receive a world-renowned mark of excellence.

The awards are split into regions covering Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, Caribbean, Central & South America, Europe, UK and USA. Participants enter at their relevant national level and are judged by a highly experienced team of professionals who cover the whole range of property disciplines.

BSBG has previously won International Property Awards for projects which include Mercer House, UH by Ellington, One River Point, The Edge, Banyan Tree Residences – Hillside Dubai, JA Lake View Hotel, Aloft City Centre Deira, Peninsula 4, The Plaza, and Visa CEMEA Headquarters.
