BSBG unveils design of Ellington Sands, a new residential community on Dubai Islands

Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) has revealed details of the +studio-designed Ellington Sands, a residential community located on Dubai Islands. BSBG is the Concept Architect, Executive Architect, Lead Consultant, Structural Engineer and Interior Designer on the project, and is also providing Construction Supervision.

Designed with the aspiration of redefining coastal living, Ellington Sands features 962 residential units, with a selection of one, two, three, and four-bedroom apartments, as well as amenities including a private beach, a beach club, a yacht club, multiple swimming pools, a restaurant/café, a state-of-the-art fitness and yoga studio, and landscaped gardens.

Commenting on the +studio design, Associate Roxanne Djaiji said: “Ellington Sands is designed as a serene and sophisticated residential scheme focused on beachfront living for families, with high-end material selection and finishings, in one of the most exciting and dynamic new locations in the UAE. Aesthetically, the design language is simple and elegant, inspired by and complementary to its coastal surroundings. The residences are spacious and bright, with uninterrupted views across the ocean. The entire scheme is designed almost as a beachfront retreat; so close to the centre of the city, and yet separate and secluded.”

Michael Lewis, Group Design Director, added that the project, which is comprised of four main residential buildings, exemplifies the best of +studio and the attention to detail they put into each project they design. “Ellington Sands is a great design statement,” he said. “Purely because of its simplicity and elegance. The project is an expression of our detailing, our façade treatment, and our favourite materials. There is a great deal of cerebral thought that goes into those façades, and I think this is a good example of what we set out to achieve in each of our designs – a very organic language, an understanding of the environment and context, and delivering refined and sophisticated solutions. We’re very pleased with the outcome.”

Ellington Sands is the latest in a series of residential projects designed by BSBG’s +studio for Ellington Properties as a result of a long-term strategic partnership signed in November 2024. Since the agreement was signed, multiple award-winning projects have been released, including UH by Ellington, Mercer House, and One River Point, all of which are currently under construction in locations across Dubai.
