Construction Update: Six Senses The Palm, Dubai construction documentation issued

All design stages are now complete and Construction Documentation has been issued on the Six Senses The Palm, Dubai project, with piling underway on site and the main works due to commence in December 2022. Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) is the Lead Consultant, Executive Architect and Structural Engineer for the project, and is also providing Construction Supervision.

BSBG Associate, Chris Day, explained that the Building Permit is under process, and that approvals have been received from the relevant utilities and Dubai Civil Defence. The sales centre is now open at site, providing the public with a glimpse of the quality they can expect from the project upon its completion.

“As you can see from the sales centre, Six Senses The Palm, Dubai is going to become something very special for this city,” Chris says. “The quality of finishes and material selection just shows the level the project is going to achieve. The marble and natural stone, the interfaces between the different materials, everything is at the highest quality as you would expect for a Six Senses branded project, and it sets a new benchmark for luxury in the Dubai market.”

Inside the design

With all design stages now complete, details on some of the features within the project have been revealed, and Chris highlights one of the design elements which is sure to capture the imagination of guests and residents - the hotel arrival experience.

“That was an interesting challenge we had to resolve,” he explains. “The hotel positioning required vehicles to pass through most of the plot to arrive at the drop-off point. We managed to design a vehicular route to bring the vehicles down into a sub-environment under the development with a beautiful cascading water feature that guides the vehicles back up into the hotel valet area.

“It’s likely to be one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring arrival experiences in Dubai. It’s one of the most impressive parts of the project, and it really provides a sense of what’s to come from the entire resort experience for guests.”

The design, Chris says, is embellished throughout with “stop and pause moments.” The arrival experience is the first of these. “There are areas and design features which are subtly included where we hope you will just stop, take a moment, and appreciate where you are,” he concludes.

About Six Senses The Palm, Dubai

Six Senses The Palm, Dubai is comprised of 61 hotel rooms which use coral as the main inspiration for the design narrative. There are 172 branded residences, including 131 Penthouses, seven of which are Royal Penthouses, and 32 duplex Sky Villas. There are also nine five-bedroom beachfront Signature Villas, each offering a garden, infinity pool, and palm-framed views to the beach.

The community features 5-star amenities which include a rooftop bar, restaurants, pools, a games room, library, function rooms, and meeting rooms. In addition, a huge focus for Six Senses is the wellness aspect to the resort. A 60,000 ft² social and wellness club will offer a longevity clinic, IV lounge, biohacking room, massage circuit pool, squash court, working spaces and Six Senses Spa, which is also inspired by the textured coral reefs under the sea.
