One Clapham Phase 3 tops out

The key structures at One Clapham Phase 3, the final phase of a large residential development located in close proximity to Clapham Junction in South West London, have now topped out. In recognition of this important project milestone, a topping out ceremony was hosted by developer and long-term client, Mount Anvil. Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) is the Lead Consultant and Executive Architect on this phase of the project, which brings 307 new homes to London.

The ceremony was attended by a host of VIPs, including Marsha De Cordova – Labour MP for Battersea; Angela Wood, Deputy Executive Director – Development for Peabody; and Darragh Hurley, Chief Executive Officer for Mount Anvil. In attendance representing BSBG were Alistair Bradley, Associate Director, and Jack Walker, Architectural Technologist.

All attendees were hoisted to the highest rooftop on the project, where the final slab was put in place by the VIP guests. Commenting on the milestone, Alistair Bradley said: “This is a huge moment for the project and all the teams involved in delivering this final phase of the wider development. We are very pleased with the quality of the works, and with the significant progress that continues at pace towards completion. It’s a pleasure to work alongside the teams at Mount Anvil on this project and to see the design come to life as we progress through the construction phase.”

About One Clapham Phase 3

Phase Three of One Clapham is comprised of 307 homes split across six buildings. Each building is unique in design and features distinctive brick work that reflects the history of the area and its long-standing relationship with the railway industry.

The unique brickwork is complex and varied across each of the six buildings that make up the development. The brick texture is vital because of the sensitivity of the site, with the project featuring multiple different types of brick, with both diverse brickwork and glazed brickwork. Each building has its own style and complex details, including bespoke brick shapes and brick art incorporated within the brickwork itself.

Wellbeing is also at the forefront of the scheme, with the development featuring a residential Peloton fitness hub alongside a new village square, wildflower gardens and trees.
