Words by BSBG Media Team, Monday 09 March 2015

Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) is pleased to announce the launch of the Technical Note. This publication, produced by the BSBG Technical Team, is part of the group’s ongoing investment into Continued Professional Development (CPD). The BSBG Media Team asked Technical Manager Chris Brown to give us a brief outline.

Achieving technical excellence

"Brewer Smith Brewer Group is committed to achieving technical excellence on every project," Chris says. "This can be a challenging process which requires a distinct methodical approach, however with the correct procedures in place we are able to offer advice based on past experiences during both the design and construction phases of projects. The Technical Note is a way of communicating the lessons we've learned to the team on a regular basis and to raise awareness when documenting live and future projects."

Educating our team

"As a culturally diverse international group, BSBG has a complementary range of skills, knowledge and experience. Our employees come from 13 countries, and as such they have gained the technical education and skill sets required from their respective regions. It is common for individuals in this region to not fully understand and appreciate the requirements of waterproofing, thermal bridging, etc. The Technical Note will not only offer the knowledge of this presented in an accessible and informative format, but will also provide the team with further education on the built environment and best practices."

Construction methodology

"In addition to live feedback from projects and furthering the professional development of our staff, the Technical Note will provide insight into construction materials, the advantages and disadvantages of these materials and how they are installed on site. We will look at both old and new construction methodologies and provide sound advice on whether these types of construction are appropriate for the Middle East region."

Accessible for all

"We are very proud with our reputation for technical excellence and leadership in the region, and with this position comes the resposibility to disseminte our knwoeldge for the benfit of all - including other architcets, students and contractors. As such, we are making each volume of the Technical Note publicly accessible by publishing on the BSBG blog."
