Reimagining an established 19^th Century Georgian London hotel

A complex and intricate refurbishment of a Grade II listed building which contains a premium hotel in Mayfair. Owned by client London + Regional Hotels (L+R Hotels), The Mayfair Townhouse spans over 15 adjoining 19th Century Georgian townhouses, each of which was converted over a series of decades to create a six-storey, 172-key hotel offering in the upscale London district of Green Park.

The project involved a re-evaluation of the use of space in public areas within the basement and on the ground floor level, while an additional three guest rooms were created. In fully coordinating the design, BSBG managed to scale down demolition and excavation requirements by 70%, substantially reducing the cost and risk associated with executing the project while maintaining the design intent. In completing the project, BSBG contributed to transforming the quality of the end user experience, upgrading the hotel from its previous three-star rating to become a high end, refined five-star offering.
