Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) has announced its appointment as Executive Architect for Solaya, the new design-led beachfront residential development being delivered by Meraas in partnership with Brookfield Properties. Located in Jumeirah 1, Solaya is envisioned as a contemporary coastal community shaped by internationally renowned design studios Foster + Partners and 1508 London.

Set across nine low-rise buildings on a 40-acre site, Solaya comprises 234 residences ranging from two to five bedrooms, including duplexes, signature garden houses with private pools and single-level penthouses with dedicated elevator access. BSBG’s scope of work also includes the roles of Architect of Record, Structural Engineer of Record, and Construction Supervision.

Solaya’s lifestyle framework is centred on well-being, privacy and calm. Residents will have access to a series of curated amenities, including infinity pools, a dedicated wellness spa with treatment rooms and saunas, a fitness centre with specialised studios, a private cinema, refined dining, meeting lounges and an exclusive residents’ club. The location in Jumeirah 1 offers coastal tranquillity with immediate proximity to Dubai’s cultural and commercial districts.

Commenting on the project, Scott Orwin, Senior Partner, said: “Solaya is a significant development within one of Dubai’s most prestigious coastal neighbourhoods. We are proud to continue our long-standing collaboration with Meraas, Brookfield Properties and Foster + Partners on a project that embodies design excellence and technical rigour. Our appointment reflects BSBG’s proven experience in delivering residential developments of this scale and sophistication, and our commitment to ensuring the client brings a fully resolved and compliant scheme to market.”

Adam Drawl, Lead Architect at BSBG, added: “Solaya presents a complex design and delivery landscape, including the redevelopment of an existing retail site and coordination across demolition, utilities and multi-agency approvals. With five plots, each with distinct conditions, our focus is on ensuring architectural coherence and technical consistency throughout the masterplan. By aligning design intent with efficient technical delivery, we are helping to create a coastal neighbourhood that feels unified, enduring and connected to its setting.”

Solaya joins BSBG’s expanding portfolio of premium residential projects currently under construction, including Six Senses The Palm, The St. Regis Residences, Mercer House, One River Point, UH by Ellington, Ellington Cove, Eltiera Heights and Playa Del Sol. The practice’s completed work includes landmark developments such as Bluewaters Residences, Banyan Tree Residences – Hillside Dubai and The Lana, Dorchester Collection, also designed in collaboration with Foster + Partners
