Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) Head of Studio Riyadh, Bart Leclercq, gave a presentation at the ZAK World of Facades conference, held at The Ritz-Carlton, Jeddah, on 27^th September 2022. His presentation was entitled “Exemplar Façade Projects”, in which he outlined some of the complexities BSBG faced when delivering two key façades for ICD Brookfield Place and The Opus in Dubai. Bart went on to explain in detail more about BSBG’s activity in Saudi Arabia – providing an overview of the methodology and processes involved in façade delivery for key projects in the Kingdom – with a focus on louvers and material selection.

Commenting on his presentation at the conference, Bart said: “It was privilege to be invited to present at the Zak World of Facades conference in Riyadh. I showcased some of our key projects here in the Kingdom, both as the Concept Design Architect and the Lead Consultant, and it was wonderful afterwards to connect with different suppliers and potential partners, and to see some great presentations from many of my colleagues and contemporaries. I would also like to thank Marina at our partner AESG for contributing some of the studies we have done on our projects in Saudi.”

After his presentation, Bart was invited to host the forthcoming conference in Riyadh on the 12^th December 2022. “It will be a great honour to be the moderator for the next conference in Riyadh later this year,” he continued. “There was a great energy among the attendees, and it’s a really good networking opportunity, very well organised. I’m sure the next event will be a great success.”

BSBG established its Riyadh studio in 2021, and has since announced key projects including Misk School and Misk Foundation Headquarters, with more announcements due shortly. Bart said: “It’s going very well for us here in Saudi. Our name is synonymous with high quality design and project delivery, and already the variety of projects we are engaged on in a design architect and lead consultant capacity demonstrates that our reputation continues to serve us well. We are currently working on projects across the hospitality, education, commercial and retail sectors, so there is a range of disciplines and knowledge involved in successfully delivering these projects. We’re very happy to be making a meaningful contribution to development here in KSA.”

Zak World of Façades is an international conference series on façade design and engineering. The conference has attracted over 29,000 delegates across its 98 completed editions, showcasing sustainable innovations and challenges in the construction industry pertaining to the building envelope and will also display latest technological solutions.
