BLVD Crescent construction update

Words by BSBG Media Team, Thursday 20 July 2017

BLVD Crescent is a dual tower residential development located on the exclusive Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. The project, for which BSBG is the design architect, executive architect, lead consultant and is delivering the interior design, is currently under construction. Project Manager Reny Pinto and BSBG Associate Demetrios Tourtouras, give us a construction update on this project, which is owned by Dubai developer Emaar.

Significant progress continues to be made on BLVD Crescent, with the structure of the Main Tower now at 50% completion; the 25^th floor of 44 has just been completed and by December the tower will top out structurally. Tower Two, which is a 25-storey smaller tower, is also at 50%, and will be finished structurally slightly before the Main Tower.

While work continues on the upper storeys of the structures on both towers, installation has commenced on the interior works and the external facades. GRC works are also arriving at the site, and externally the architectural aesthetics are gradually beginning to take shape, and when viewed from the boulevard itself the look and feel of the design is starting to become apparent from the base upwards.

The internal finishes have been approved and are also just beginning to arrive at the project site for installation as the blockwork and plastering nears completion on the lower levels. The project is also entering its most critical phase, as the structural component comprises only 30% of the development. 70% is ongoing and involves the finishing externally, MEP and the fit out internally. This means more sub-contractors are arriving at the construction site, which in turn creates more coordination and construction supervision responsibilities for BSBG in different areas. Work now is accelerating towards the finish, and the project remains on track for completion in 2018.
