BSBG announces executive architect and lead consultant role on exclusive new Business Bay project

Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) has announced its role as the Executive Architect, Lead Consultant, and Structural Engineer for Eywa, Dubai, an exclusive new residential tower located on the banks of Dubai Canal in Business Bay.

A brainchild of Latvian developer R.evolution, widely known for its ultra-luxury high-end residential properties in Latvia, Germany and Spain, the concept design of Eywa will be led by Open Architecture Design, a renowned architecture and design studio based in Riga. They are well known for pushing boundaries to create commercial and private projects that are entirely bespoke.

The 22,000 m² project features a 19-storey tower with 48 two, three, four, and five-bedroom apartments. The smallest two-bedroom residence is sized at 200 m² plus balcony. Each apartment will have its own jacuzzi, and the two penthouse levels will each feature a private swimming pool.

BSBG Senior Architect, Bojan Stankovic, provided more details on the project: “The aspiration of the client, particularly with Eywa being their first project in Dubai, is to create a first-class product which prioritises the quality of living and well-being for residents above all else. The property features numerous natural elements in terms of design, fluid shapes, water features and pools.”

Bojan explained that the project also embraces a principle of architecture that integrates nature into well-defined spaces by utilising geometric patterns, symmetry, and directional alignments. “There is a very spiritual element to the building, which is quite unique for us here in Dubai,” he said. “It’s very interesting to learn some of these practices and to work so closely alongside the developer and the designer, both of whom are extremely passionate and engaged in every component of the design. It is a different way of working, and in terms of coordination and execution there is a level of technicality involved in realisation which is hugely challenging. However, the project is progressing very well, and we’re excited by the passion and ambition of the client and the other stakeholders.”

Scott Orwin, Senior Partner, added: “It’s fantastic to see new developers with fresh ideas come to Dubai, and we are delighted to be delivering this ambitious project. It will add a new dimension to the Dubai Canal district - a focus area of development for us right now, with The Lana by Dorchester Collection closing in on completion and Peninsula 4, The Plaza getting underway. We look forward to developing Eywa and delivering this unique building to the highest standard.”

More to follow on this project.
