Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) has announced a second project for its recently established London office. The project involves the complete renovation and restoration of the existing Radisson Blu Portman Hotel located just off Oxford Street on Portman Square, London.

BSBG is working as lead consultant with developer, building owner and hotel operator London + Regional Hotels (L+R Hotels) to complete the refurbishment, with the target of enhancing the building’s exterior aesthetic and providing a contemporary, sophisticated new interior design in delivering a luxury 249-room hotel.

Nobu Hotel announcement

Since the project announcement, it has been revealed that the hotel is to be branded as Nobu Hotel London Portman Square. Nobu Hospitality, founded by Robert De Niro and Nobu Matsuhisa, includes 40 restaurants often frequented by celebrities across the globe, with three in London, and a collection of 18 hotels in destinations such as Barcelona, Miami and Shoreditch.

Nick Turbott, BSBG Partner, revealed more about the project. “We are working with L+R Hotels to deliver a revamped luxury hotel for one of the world’s most celebrated young hospitality brands,” he said. “A new bar, Nobu restaurant, a ballroom and a striking double height lobby just beyond the reimagined guest arrival point and entrance are a selection of the key features for the hotel.”

The project, which BSBG began working on at the turn of the year, marks a second collaboration with L+ R Hotels for the group since arriving in the UK. “Our relationship with L+ R goes back some years,” Nick continued. “And we are humbled by the faith they continue to place in BSBG as a consultant capable of delivering such important projects for the developer. The Portman, along with the Green Park Hotel, are two demanding and complex refurbishments with very tight timeframes, but our technical expertise and our experience in leading projects of a similar scale internationally has helped keep both on track and on target for completion.”
