Construction Update | ICD Brookfield Place

Words by BSBG Media Team, Sunday 15 March 2020

The BSBG Media Team spoke with Senior Project Manager, Shajahan Shahib, for the latest updates from one of our key flagship projects, ICD Brookfield Place in DIFC Dubai.

ICD Brookfield Place is an elegant commercial tower and mixed use development, comprising of a 53-storey skyscraper containing Grade A office space, and a five-storey atrium at ground level featuring high-end F&B and retail options. The development is designed by Foster & Partners, with BSBG providing lead consultancy and executive architecture services to deliver what is a highly technical and iconic project.

“The majority of major façade works are now complete, with just the final stitching process continuing,” Shajahan explains. “ICD Brookfield Place is now quickly approaching the final completion stage.”

As the completion date is now upon the horizon, office tenants, including Ernst & Young, have commenced with office fit out works. “They are in full swing,” says Shajahan. “We’re also in the final testing and commissioning stages for the electro-mechanical systems.”

In addition, Shajahan explains that the various local authority approval processes for utility connections are also at an advanced stage.

“In a proud moment for us all, the teams also recently celebrated accomplishing 24 million safe man hours without LTI,” he adds. Last year Multiplex and BSBG were each awarded the Bronze Category Construction Compliance Award from the Dubai Development Authority (DDA), in recognition of achieving 20 million safe man hours.

When complete, ICD Brookfield Place looks set to become a premier business and lifestyle destination in Dubai, with London’s The Arts Club one of the main attractions. A variety of unique food concepts are also planned, as well as activated spaces to create a vibrant and bustling urban realm that spills from the development into DIFC itself.

Stay tuned for more updates on the project as work continues towards completion…
