An iconic waterfront community on the world-renowned island of Bluewaters

Bluewaters Residences features 10 medium-rise residential buildings ranging in size from G+6 to G+14, 17 waterfront townhouses and almost 6,000 m² of retail space, located on the man-made island of Bluewaters. The 10 residential buildings contain 698 high-end apartments and four luxury penthouses.

BSBG became involved in this iconic waterfront community project from initial inception, working alongside the concept architect to coordinate the process of design, before overseeing construction of the development to completion and the final handover.

There is a contemporary architectural language that is applied to the multi-level apartment buildings. The sense of authenticity to the external character of the place is complementary to beautifully landscaped and vibrant outdoor areas, all of which combine to provide an emphatic sense of urban island life.

The residential development forms one sector of the Bluewaters masterplan in its entirety. As well as hosting the world’s largest observation wheel, Ain Dubai, the island features a Las Vegas hotel, an exclusive beach club and extensive waterfront retail and F&B options.

The elegance of the interior spaces

As the interior architect, BSBG designed all interior spaces to complement the exterior architecture, with a focus on clean, sharp features and straight lines. An accomplished spatial definition is achieved and yet apartment layouts are open and flowing. Floor-to-ceiling windows in all apartments allow for stunning views across the picturesque island and Arabian Sea, while unique coved ceilings with embedded strip lighting provide a floating ceiling effect to interior spaces at night. BSBG provided executive architecture and lead consultancy on the project, leading coordination through concept and managing all architectural packages from the end of the schematic design. During construction, BSBG took charge of technical and construction supervision for the architecture, structures and interior design of this milestone development, guiding the project through to completion.
