Green Residential Building of the Year 2018

Masdar N1R is a sustainable residential complex, consisting of 11 blocks, housing approximately 500 one and two-bedroom units. BSBG developed the project from an existing schematic design.

The five-storey apartment blocks maintain a contemporary appearance, while achieving sustainability targets by utilising a number of inventive solutions, products and materials, particularly within the façades and thermal aspects of construction. Passive shading systems are implemented throughout the development, reducing demands for artificial cooling.

The complex features pedestrian-friendly outdoor spaces at podium level, connecting residents with all areas of the development. BSBG’s solutions led to Masdar N1R achieving a LEED^® Gold rating.
